AJJ anti-slip Acid Etched Glass is an all-glass flooring solution, using no coatings, paints or appliqués susceptible to chipping or flaking off. The slip resistant properties of non-slip glass are entirely derived through acid etching, whereby portions of the glass surface are removed to varying depths by a controlled process. The result is attractive and durable anti-slip surfaces, characterised by striking designs. The unique combination of opacity and translucency provides for full privacy, while still allowing for maximum circulation of light between floors.

How does the smart glass work?

Smart glass changes between clear and opaque by the electric voltage control.

The liquid crystal within the dimming film of the smart glass is out of order under the nature state (power off), it is in a mess. In this case, the refractive index of liquid crystal is lower than the one of polymer outside (high molecular material). The scattering happens when the incident light arrives at the polymer. You will find the whole set of the glass is opaque, like sandblasted glass.

When power on, two pieces of the PET film like two planar electrodes, making the polymer drop align again, and the liquid crystal changes to be ordered arrangement, and finally the refractive index between liquid crystal and polymer is the same, light can get through the glass . the smart glass presents an transparent appearance.
